What is the QCTO?
The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations is a public entity established under the Skills Development Act. Its mandate is to quality assure and oversee the design, accreditation, implementation, assessment, and certification of occupational qualifications on the Occupational Qualifications Sub-Framework (OQSF), covering NQF levels 1 to 6.
Occupational Qualification
A full qualification tied to a trade or profession, built from knowledge, practical skills, and work experience.
Part-Qualification
An assessed unit of learning registered as part of a qualification on the OQSF.
